North Central Michigan Community Foundation Funds
NCMCF holds over 80 funds that directly benefit the residents of Crawford, Ogemaw, and Oscoda Counties. You can make a gift to any of these funds online, or by mailing a check payable to North Central Michigan Community Foundation. Simply indicate on the memo line of your check the fund to which you would like to contribute, and mail it to P.O. Box 495, Alpena, MI 49707.
Donor Advised Funds
Briney Ethical Fund - This endowment fund was created to promote ethics by sponsoring an essay contest for high school students.
Bob and Nancy Griffin Donor-Advised Endowment Fund - This endowment fund will be used to support the needs of Ogemaw County as recommended by Bob and Nancy Griffin.
Grayling Kiwanis Club General Fund - This endowment fund was established by the Grayling Kiwanis Club for use as their board of directors may recommend.
Grayling Rotary Club General Fund - This endowment fund was established by the Grayling Rotary Club for use as their board of directors may recommend.
Grayling Youth Booster Club Fund - This endowment fund is used to make grants for youth activities or programs in Grayling, Michigan.
Monnie Orr Memorial Fund - This endowment fund was established to benefit the residents of Ogemaw County.
Ward C. Taylor Memorial Endowment Fund - This endowment fund was started to assist the Wellington Farm Park of Grayling with development of their programs, projects and needs.
UARPA Environmental Protection Fund - This non-endowed fund was created to assist with the environmental study costs for waterways in Crawford County.
Wellspring Fund - This permanent endowment will be used to support specific organizations as the donors recommend.
Designated Funds
Citizens Bank CCEDP Match Fund - This fund was created by Citizens Bank in Grayling to match gifts made to the Crawford County Economic Development Partnership Fund.
Crawford County Economic Development Partnership Fund - This permanent endowment fund was created to support economic development in Crawford County as determined by the Crawford County Economic Development Partnership board.
Diane Gates Memorial Fund - This endowment fund was created to support youth projects and causes sponsored by the MSU Extension Service of Oscoda County and/or the Oscoda County Library.
District Health Department #2 Fund - This endowment fund was started to assist with the programs, projects, and needs of District Health Department #2, as determined by the Agency's Board.
Esther and F.A. Diebold Memorial Endowment Fund - This endowment fund will support the Michigan Girl Scouts Troop in West Branch.
JL Howard Fund - This endowment fund was started to assist Hospice of the Helping Hands in West Branch. The spendable balance of the fund is to be distributed annually.
Lake Margrethe Foundation Fund - This endowment fund was established for projects that help preserve and protect the natural beauty of the lake and its surroundings, enhance the area's natural resources and recreational facilities, preserve and enhance the environment of Lake Margrethe and its watershed, provide educational and training programs to accomplish set goals, as well as monitoring and controlling water quality.
Mabel Hager Memorial Fund - This endowed fund was established through a bequest to benefit the Mio United Methodist Church.
Oscoda County Library Fund - This endowment fund was created to assist with operating and program costs for the Oscoda County Public Library.
River House Fund -This endowed fund was established to assist the River House Shelter of Grayling with any programs, projects, and needs as its Board of Directors deems appropriate.
Steiner Museum Fund - This endowment fund was started to assist the Steiner Museum in Fairview with operations, improvements, maintenance, equipment, artifacts, programs projects, staff, and any other needs the museum may have.
St. Joseph School Endowment Fund - This endowment fund was created to assist with the educational needs of St. Joseph Catholic School of West Branch and/or their students and faculty, as determined by the Advisory Committee for the Fund.
West Branch Regional Medical Center Endowment Fund - This endowment fund was established for the purchase of new technology, replacement of old equipment, continuing educational needs, or establishing and subsidizing new or improved service to help the West Branch Regional Medical Center meet the needs of the community.
Field of Interest Funds
Crawford County Kellogg Youth Fund - A portion of the income from this endowment fund donated by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation is used by the Crawford County Youth Advisory Council to teach them about philanthropy and volunteerism by funding grants which benefit the youth in the Crawford County.
Crawford County Lakes and Rivers Fund - This endowment fund was established for environmental projects benefiting the residents of Crawford County as the discretion of the NCMCF Board.
Crawford County Recreation Fund - This endowment fund was established to enhance, improve, and increase recreational opportunities for the residents of Crawford County. Grants will be made at the discretion of the NCMCF Board.
Crawford County Tobacco Settlement Fund - This endowment fund was created when the State of Michigan won its legal battle against the tobacco industry. Grants from this fund are awarded in conjunction with the Crawford County Community Needs Fund (common grants), and are used for programs promoting health for youth under the age of 18 and senior citizens.

Cedars for the AuSable River Program Fund - This non-endowed fund was established for projects, causes, activities or persons which serve to protect, improve or increase the re-growth of Cedar trees along the AuSable River.
Crawford County Historical Society Endowment Fund - This permanent endowment fund was established to supplement the operating expenses of the Crawford County Historical Society and/or to be used for charitable purposes at the discretion of their board.
Mason Tract Cedars Fund -
This non-endowed fund was established for projects, causes, activities or persons which serve to protect, improve or increase the re-growth of Cedar trees along the Mason tract of the AuSable River.
Rifle River Watershed Restoration Committee Endowment Fund - This non-endowed fund was created to assist with the fulfillment of the donor's wishes which are to protect and preserve the Rifle River Watershed.
Upper AuSable River Preservation Association Fund - This non-endowed fund was established for projects, causes, activities or persons which serve to protect, improve or increase appreciation for the natural environment and clean water of the Upper AuSable River.
Scholarship Funds
Drs. Chris & Mary Chrysler West Branch Family Dentistry Scholarship Fund - This permanent endowment fund was established to provide scholarships to students graduating from Ogemaw County for post-secondary education in a dental-related field.
Crawford/AuSable School District Scholarship Fund - This endowment fund has been established to provide scholarships to the graduating seniors from Grayling High School. All scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the Crawford/AuSable School District Board.
Dawson Oaks Memorial Scholarship Fund
- This endowment fund was created to award students graduating from Fairview High School.
ESP Arthur E. Short Memorial Scholarship Fund - This endowment fund was created by the Educational Support Partnership (ESP) for the educational needs of West Branch/Rose City graduating seniors. Awards are determined by the ESP Scholarship Committee.
ESP Bernice Ruh Scholarship Fund - This endowment fund was established by the Educational Support Partnership (ESP) for the education needs of West Branch/Rose City graduating seniors. Awards are determined by the ESP Scholarship Committee.
ESP Chester Surline Memorial Scholarship Fund - This endowment fund was created by the Educational Support Partnership (ESP) for the educational needs of West Branch/Rose City graduating seniors. Awards are determined by the ESP Scholarship committee.
ESP Daniel Wilber Memorial Scholarship Fund - This endowment fund was established in memory of Daniel Wilber by his family in conjunction with the Educational Support Partnership (ESP) for a scholarship to a graduating senior from Ogemaw High School going into the field of engineering.
ESP Edwin Shiel Memorial Fund - This endowment fund was established by the Educational Support Partnership (ESP) for the education needs of West Branch/Rose City graduating seniors. Awards are determined by the ESP Scholarship Committee.

Sheryl Krantz Scholarship Fund - This endowment fund was established to provide scholarships to graduating seniors from Whittemore-Prescott High School.
Optimist Club of West Branch Education Fund - This endowment fund was established to provide scholarships to graduating seniors from the West Branch/Rose City Area School District.
Oscoda County College Fund - This endowment fund provides scholarships to high school seniors from Oscoda County. Awards are made at the discretion o f the Oscoda County Affiliate Board.
Irene E. Peterson Scholarship Fund - This endowment fund provides scholarships to students graduating from Ogemaw Heights High School who plan to study in the fields of teaching or medicine.
St. Mary Church/Our Lady of the Woods Shrine Scholarship Fund - This endowment fund will provide scholarships to active members of St. Mary Parish in Mio.
Reynold A. Gogarn Memorial Scholarship Fund - This pledged fund was established through a bequest to provide scholarships to graduating seniors from the West Branch/Rose City Area School District.
Rose City Lioness/Lions Club Scholarship Fund - This endowment fund was started to award a scholarship to a student graduating from Ogemaw Heights High School who lives in the original Rose City School District. Awards are determined by the Fund Advisory Committee.
Dick and Doris Smith Memorial Scholarship Fund - This permanent endowment scholarship fund will be used to provide scholarship awards to eligible students from Fairview, Mio, Atlanta and Hillman high schools.
Sharon Sutton Memorial Scholarship Fund - This endowment fund was established to award scholarships to students living in Oscoda County. Awards are determined by a fund representative working in conjunction with the public school system.
John "Jack" G. Thompson Scholarship Fund - This endowment fund was established to provide scholarships to students graduating from Ogemaw Heights High School in West Branch.
West Branch High School Alumni Scholarship Fund -
This endowed fund was established for students living in the West Branch area and graduating from Ogemaw Heights High School. Awards from the fund will be determined by the Educational Support Partnership (ESP).
West Branch Business and Professional Women's Association Scholarship - This endowment fund was created to fund scholarships for female students graduating from Ogemaw Heights High School. Awards will be determined by the Fund Advisory Committee.
West Branch Kiwanis Club Education Fund - This endowment fund was established to provide scholarships to graduating high school seniors from Ogemaw County. All scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the West Branch Kiwanis Club.
Whaley Steel Scholarship Fund - This endowment fund was started to provide scholarships to graduating high school seniors from Oscoda County. All scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the Oscoda County Affiliate Board.
