Iosco County Community Foundation Funds

ICCF holds over 40 funds that directly benefit the residents of Iosco County.  You can make a gift to any of these funds online, by clicking the ONLINE GIVING BUTTON above to your right or by mailing a check payable to Iosco County Community Foundation.  Simply indicate on the memo line of your check the fund to which you would like to contribute, and mail it to P.O. Box 495, Alpena, MI 49707.

Donor Advised Funds

Tawas Kiwanis Foundation Fund - This endowment fund was established by the Kiwanis Club of Tawas to assist them with projects benefiting the Tawas and East Tawas area.

Tawas United Methodist Church Fund - This endowment fund was established to assist the Tawas United Methodist Church with enhancing and promoting Christian values in the Tawas community.  Distributions may be made by recommendation of the Tawas United Methodist Board.

Thomas & Nancy Huck Charitable Gift Endowment Fund - This endowed fund was established by Thomas and Nancy Huck to meet their charitable interests.

Designated Funds

Mary Jane Chevis Endowment Fund - This endowment fund was created through a bequest to benefit Tawas St. Joseph Hospital.

Churchill Tawas FISH, Inc Memorial Fund - This endowment fund will provide support to the operations of Tawas F.I.S.H., Inc., a nonprofit organization in Tawas City.

Jerry and Marge Cotter Fund - The purpose of this endowment fund is threefold:  25% of the spendable balance is be distributed to the St. Joseph Education Foundation for the Benefit of Holy Family School, 25% is to be transferred to the Iosco County Community Needs Endowment Fund specifically to benefit the cities of Tawas City and East Tawas, and the remaining 50% is to be distributed to the Tawas Education Foundation General Fund.

Friends of the East Tawas Library Fund - This non-endowed fund was established to build or purchase and furnish a new library facility in East Tawas, MI.

The Sheppard Fund - This endowment fund was established to support Christian Youth Ministry Camps in Michigan.

St. Joseph Education Foundation Endowment Fund - This endowment fund was established to assist in supporting all educational programs that are approved and included in the regular curricula and programs of the Education Commission for St. Joseph Catholic (now known as Holy Family) School.  In particular this fund may be used for teachers' salaries and benefits.

R. Mick Community Auditorium Fund - This non-endowed fund holds pledges and donations to assist with the construction of an auditorium in the Tawas area.

Van Etten Lake Endowment Fund - This endowment fund will help protect and preserve Van Etten Lake in Iosco County.

Field of Interest Funds

Iosco County Arts and Humanities Fund - This endowment fund was established to enhance and develop arts and humanities in Iosco County, including projects and activities which serve to develop an art gallery in Iosco County.

Iosco County Health Care Fund - This endowment fund was established for prevention, education and improvement of healthcare for the general population of Iosco County.

Iosco County Kellogg Youth Fund - A portion of the income from this endowment fund donated by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation is used by the ICCF Youth Advisory Council to teach young people about philanthropy and volunteerism by funding grants which benefit the youth in Iosco County.

Iosco County Lakes and Rivers Fund - This endowment fund was established for projects, causes, activities or persons that serve to protect, improve or increase appreciation for the natural environment and clean water of Iosco County lakes and rivers.

Iosco County Recreation Fund - This endowment fund was created for projects, causes, activities or persons that serve to protect, improve, or enhance recreational opportunities in Iosco County.

Iosco County Tobacco Settlement Partnership Fund - This endowment fund was created when the State of Michigan won its legal battle against the tobacco industry.  Grants from this fund are awarded for programs that promote healthy youth and healthy seniors.  Grants are awarded in conjunction with the ICCF Common Grants.

Agency Funds

AuSable Valley Community Mental Health Fund - This endowment fund was established for the purpose of meeting the mental health needs and services in Iosco County, as recommended by the AuSable Valley Community Mental Health Foundation board of directors.

Iosco County Humane Society Fund - This permanent endowment will help to support the Iosco County Humane Society.

St. Joseph Health System Endowment Fund - This permanent endowment fund will be used to assist St. Joseph Health System in Tawas City meet the health care needs of area residents.

Scholarship Funds

Carl and Christine Huebner Scholarship Fund - This endowment will provide a scholarship each year to a deserving student from Iosco County who wishes to pursue advanced studies in the field of music, creative writing, or the performing arts.

Elmer and Eliza Werth Fund - This endowment fund was established for the educational needs of graduating seniors from Tawas Area High School.  Awards are determined by the Tawas Area Educational Foundation Advisory Committee.

George E. and Dorothy M. Green Scholarship Fund - This endowment fund was established for the educational needs of graduating seniors from Tawas Area High School.  Awards are determined by the Tawas Area Educational Foundation Advisory Committee.

Hale Education Fund - This endowment fund was established to meet the educational needs of graduating seniors from Hale Area High School as determined by the Fund Advisory Committee.

Joseph Barkman Scholarship Fund - This endowment fund was established to meet the educational needs of graduating seniors from Tawas Area High School.  Awards are determined by the Fund Advisory Committee.

Marie Samuelson Scholarship Fund - This endowed fund is used to award scholarships to two families who have students attending Holy Family Catholic School in East Tawas, Michigan.  Any additional income, or undistributed income from prior years, may be used, at the option of the Donor or Donor's designee, whether for graduates of Holy Family School who are pursuing a degree in education or additional scholarship for students attending Holy Family School.

Michael Wentworth Scholarship Fund - This endowment fund was created to assist any resident of Iosco County in participating in any program to study the arts in the following categories:  architectural design, painting, drawing, or art history.  The scholarship may be used for any school.

Nancy Moran Scholarship Fund for Holy Family School - This endowment fund is used for tuition scholarships for Holy Family School, based on financial need, for children of Holy Family Parish.  Recipients will be selected by the Holy Family principal and the Holy Family Pastor.

Tawas Community Concert Band Endowment Fund - This endowment fund will provide scholarships for music programs and training for applicants from Iosco County.

Tawas Education Foundation Barkman Fund - This endowment fund was established for the educational needs of graduating seniors from Tawas Area High School.  Awards are determined by the Tawas Area Educational Foundation Advisory Committee.

Tawas Education Foundation Coyle Fund - This endowment fund was established for the educational needs of graduating seniors from Tawas Area High School.  Awards are determined by the Tawas Area Educational Foundation Advisory Committee.

Tawas Education Foundation Duane N. Sanders Memorial Scholarship Fund - This endowment fund was established for the educational needs of graduating seniors from Tawas Area High School.  Awards are determined by the Tawas Area Educational Foundation Advisory Committee.

Tawas Education Foundation General Fund - This endowment fund was established for the educational needs of graduating seniors from Tawas Area High School.  Awards are determined by the Tawas Area Educational Foundation Advisory Committee.

Tawas Education Foundation Restricted Fund - This endowment fund was established for the educational needs of graduating seniors from Tawas Area High School. This fund is also used to award mini-grants to teachers for educational projects.  Awards are determined by the Tawas Area Educational Foundation Advisory Committee.               

Unrestricted Funds

Iosco County Community Improvement Fund - This endowment fund is used to make grants to non-profits for the benefit of the residents of Iosco County, at the discretion of the ICCF Board.

The Iosco Affiliate Administrative Fund - This non-endowed fund is used for the operating expenses of the Iosco County Community Foundation.

William and Marcia Hopcroft Memorial Fund - This endowment fund is used in conjunction with the ICCF Community Needs Endowment Fund to make grants to Iosco area non-profit organizations.

Deferred Income Funds

Carl and Christine Huebner Charitable Gift Annuity Fund - This annuity fund will pay income back to the donors as long as they live. After their deaths, any money remaining will be added to the Carl and Christine Huebner Scholarship Fund.
